GUEST LECTURE ON LEGAL AWARENESS

The Women Empowerment Forum of GGDSD College, Kheri Gurna organized a guest lecture on Legal Awareness. Honourable Sh. Tejinder Bir Singh ji, additional district and session Judge (Retd.) graced the occasion with his esteemed presence as the Guest of Honor. He served in The Indian Army as a Short Service Commissioned Officer in The Legal Branch (Judge Advocate General’s Department) – 1990 – 2000; Served the nation in active insurgency, as an Infantry officer on the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.
Major Gen AK Shori (Retd.), Chairman Governing Body of the college, was the Chief Guest . In his welcome address he introduced the guest with the women empowerment forum of the college and talked about the significance of organizing such a lecture on legal awareness as it is a must for every citizen of the country.
Sh. Tejinder Bir Singh ji apprised the audience with the set of rules adopted by a society to govern itself. He explained in detail the types of courts ,judges and magistrates,types of litigation, matrimonial and domestic disputes and common civil cases. In addition he also talked about various administrative powers, tribunals and legal services authorities act. Vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Meenakshi Negi, officiating Principal of the college. She thanked the speaker for imparting valuable knowledge to the students and staff of the college.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Jaswinder Kaur with the help of Dr. CS Jyoti Arora, Dr. Vandna Saini, Ms. Rozy Gupta and Ms. Geeta Kocher.
