  • The Research and Development Cell of the college conducted a survey related to future prospects of higher education among girls in Punjab on Feb 21, 2023 in village Gharama kalan. 12 students of the college participated in this survey and collected the primary information from the respondents through questionnaires.

  • Women Empowerment Forum of G.G.D.S.D. College, Kheri Gurna, Banur had organized an online competition of clicking selfie or photo with the flag. The campaign was initiated as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Independence.

  • Green Campus Club and Women Empowerment Forum of the college organized a “PPT Making and Write Up Competition” on 4th June, 2022. 12 students from various streams participated in the competition and shared their views to save the environment.

  • The college organized an industrial visit to Vita Milk Plant, Ambala on 6th May, 2022. A group of 27 Undergraduate, Commerce and Management students of the college visited the plant.
  • The IT department of the college organized a MIE Badges Training Session for educators and administrative staff on 30th April, 2022 in association with JUANA Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
  • The Women Empowerment Forum the college successfully completed the fourth Seven Day Workshop on “Self Defence for Girls” in collaboration with Punjab Police. Hon’ble Sh. Upkar Krishan Sharma Ji, President, GGDSD college society Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated
    the workshop.
  • History Department of our college organized an essay writing competition to commemorate the 400 birth anniversary of Shri Guru Tek Bahadur Ji on April 22th, 2022.
  • The college launched a Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) on 28th April, 2022 in collaboration with Bajaj Financial Services.
  • A Sports Meet was organized on 9th April in the college premises. Hon'ble Shri Upkar Krishan Sharma Ji, President, GGDSD College Society graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
  • Green Campus Club in association with NSS Unit the college organized a Cleanliness Drive and Plant Distribution function on 30th March, 2022.
  • The college organized a talk on Stress Management on 26th March, 2022 for the faculty members. The guest speaker Ms. Amanvir Kaur, founder and owner of Infinite wellness, guided and motivated faculty members to plan and manage their work in a balanced way.
  • The college celebrated festival of Holi in the college campus on 17th March, 2022 with great enthusiasm and fervor.
  • Kaushalya Devi Verma Charitable Skill Development Centre organized a one day workshop on T- Shirt painting in collaboration with Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) on 15th March, 2022.
  • Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora and four faculty members attended' Chandigarh. Business Conclave' at CII Northern HQs on 9th March, 2022.
  • Women Empowerment Forum of the college organized ‘International Women’s Day’ on 8th March, 2022 on the theme “Gender Equality today for a Sustainable Development: Break the Bias”.
  • Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college organized a talk on the importance of ‘Professional Ethics’ for the members of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • A one day trip for the faculty members was organized on 22 nd February, 2022 to Forest Hill Golf and Country Club to build team spirit and amicable bond for better productivity at work place.
  • On the spot slogan writing was organised on 20 th February, 2022 to counsel about future prospective career after +2.
  • Women Empowerment Forum and Prevention of Women Harassment Cell organized a webinar on ‘Gender Sensitization’ on February 19, 2022 through blended mode. The eminent resource person for the webinar was Dr. Anshul Sharma, Women Welfare Officer, Women and Child Department, Chandigarh Administration.
  • The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated in the college in accordance with the Covid Protocols.
  • One Week Online course on Soft Skills “How to improve Communication Skills” was held virtually through Google Meet from 24 th Jan, 2022 to 30 th Jan, 2022.
  • 60 students of the college appeared for the certification exam on 11 th and 12 th of January under Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojna for Computer Hardware.
  • The college organised an educational cum leisure trip to Sukhna Lake and Elante Mall in Chandigarh on 22 nd December, 2021.
  • Two BBA students have been appointed by ThinkNext Technologies Pvt. Limited.
  • Five faculty members of the college were awarded Doctorate degree on 10 th December, 2021 by Punjabi University, Patiala.
  • In pursuance to excel in all round activities, our student, Ms. Satveer , BA 6th semester, brought laurels to the college by winning the First Position at "National Level Online Essay Writing Competition" on the topic "History of epidemics in India since 1757".
  • Another webinar titled 'Careers in Commerce After 12' was organised by the college on 25th May, 2020 for the students of Panchkula and Chandigarh.
  • The college organized a 3 days webinar series on ‘Online Stock Market’ from 15th – 17th May, 2020. , Dr. Jasmeet Singh Pasricha, Professor, Department of Commerce from Punjabi University, CS Manjeet Singh Dhillon, Company Secretary and CS Rajender Kumar Arora, Officiating Principal, Govt. College for Girls, Cheeka were the speakers during this webinar.
  • A webinar titled 'Careers in Commerce After 12' was organised by the college on 14th May, 2020 for the students of Mohali, Panchkula, Chandigarh and Rajpura.
  • Since the clamping of lockdown, all the faculty members have been using latest means of communications to enable the students to go through the systematic teaching process.
  • A special session was conducted on "How can we capitalise during lockdown on the stock market?" on 28th April 2020. The session was chaired by the Principal.
  • Another activity of poster making related to creating awareness among the people about the containment of COVID-19 was taken up by Women Empowerment Club of the college on 26 April, 2020.
  • An Essay Writing Competition was organized by the Department of history on 13th April, 2020 to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi.
